About Me

Hi, I’m Rod McConkey. Born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, I’ve built my career around a passion for education, communication, and storytelling. My path has taken me from marketing and educational support at Fleming College to an English Literature degree and a Bachelor of Education from Trent University.

Whether I'm crafting a lesson plan, writing narrative non-fiction, or mentoring a youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters, my goal is always the same: to connect, inspire, and foster growth.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading fantasy novels, writing fiction, keeping up with comic book movies, or traveling—whether that means exploring China and Japan or going on cruises with friends. At home, I share my space with three cats: Fraser, Dave, and Atlas.
